3D Environment

I created a 3D environment by firstly using Illustrator to create a floor plan. Then I used this floorplan to make the environment 3D using Modeler. In Modeler I was able to extrude all of the walls and create doors, a floor and a ceiling. I then opened Layout and inserted all of my objects. Once the environment was all pieced together I was able to texture it. I used textures which were appropriate to my chosen environment which was a space station. I then made a fly through video in Layout which enabled the camera to explore my completed environment.

3D Level Design

I created my own Level Design in Unity for a game of my choice. I had to make all of the floors and mountains myself. I had to make use of the Unity store to get textures and a background for my Level Design. I finally made a walk through video in Unity to explore my Level Design.

2D Shooter Game

In order to make my own 2D shooter game I was asked to follow a series of different tutorials. I added my own theme to the game which helped me when designing my background and sprites. I used a programme called Game Maker.

Platform Game

I designed my own individual platform game in Construct. I first had to pick a theme and it had to be related and include the research I had gathered about the history of games. I had to make my own sprites in a programme called Piskel. This also included an enemy and a Robot. I added a range of different platforms for my sprite to move around on and ensured that i used different features such as movement. I added the research I had gathered in the background so the player had the opportunity to read through this and look at the chosen images whilst playing the game.

Sidekick

The task set was to design a sidekick of my own choice. I decided to do a robot and the inspiration for my robot sidekick came from the existing robot on the Confused.com advert. I created my robot in Modeler. I have to make each individual part of the robot and then piece them all together. Once I had all of the pieces put together I was then able to add textures and an image on the torso for the computer screen.

Mini Beasts

The project set was to create my own mini beast by combining different aspects of other insects. As well as doing this I also had to experiment with different media and materials throughout and use the ones I think worked best. My final design is picture below.

Designing A Video Game Character

For this unit I had to design my own character for a video game. I had to come up with ideas for logos, colour schemes and I had to think of super powers which my character would possess. I came up with the idea of Blaze. The character was similarly dressed as Superman and had powers through his watch. I also had to come up with a background story and who their alter ego would be.

Colour and Surface Final Design

I started this unit off by making my own colour and surface library. I had to use a range of different media and materials to experiment with different surfaces and textures. After completing a vast range of studies I then added buildings to my designs and combined them using a collaging technique. My final design consisted of water colour paints, acrylic paint, ink and oil pastels.

Telephone Poster

The task was to choose and research something which had changed over time. I chose to research the telephone. I carried out internet research and did my own studies. For my final piece I was able to show the difference between telephones and how technology has changed them over time. I was also able to add when they were first created and who by.
